Nicholas Royle, born in Manchester in 1963, is a novelist, short story writer and anthologist. He is a reader in creative writing at Manchester Metropolitan University, head judge of the Manchester Fiction Prize, publisher of Nightjar Press and was formerly an editor with Salt Publishing. He lives in Manchester and London. His most recent publication is London Gothic (Confingo Publishing), while White Spines (Salt Publishing), a memoir about book-collecting, is forthcoming.
