Originally from the North West of England, Ian McFadyen worked for many years in sales and marketing in the leisure, education and electronics industries before starting a career as a writer. Currently based in Hertfordshire in UK, McFadyen has had eight books published in the Carmichael series, with his ninth close to completion (he says).
Favorably mentioned alongside Wilkie Collins and Colin Dexter, McFadyen has built up a strong following in UK and is particularly well supported by library borrowers. McFadyen’s titles are all available in paperback and on kindle. His first four books in the series can be found in large print and he has two titles, Deadly Secrets and Frozen to Death, that have been printed in Italian.
