Mez Packer

Mez Packer was born in Essex in 1966. During the 1980s she lived in Europe and sang jazz in bars and nightclubs. In the 1990s she brought up two children, traveled widely in Asia and the Far East and began a career in the media, working for the BBC.

Currently she is a lecturer in Creative Writing and Media and Communication at Coventry University. Mez is the author of two novels – Among Thieves and The Game is Altered – and she has contributed a story to the anthology The Sea in Birmingham.

Among Thieves was nominated for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize 2010 and the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award 2010. She lives in Leamington Spa. Author image by Tricia Belchere
