Devotion

by Betty Boyden
Catherine Tilney, nee Morland, now the respectable wife of Henry Tilney, has pledged away her youthful quizzes and overactive imagination in favour of a more refined, genteel life style. Life as a reverend’s wife is, after all, one of dignity and poise. But the unpredictable General Tilney seems set to ruin their pleasant newlywed bliss. So, when the opportunity comes to move to a new village and start afresh, without the burden of family ties threatening to knot at every corner, Catherine urges her Henry to take it. This new adventure will take her more than two hundred miles from everything she knows and into the harsh climes of the north, but Catherine is excited by the possibilities it brings. But then, just as it seems her happiness is complete, a sudden illness threatens to take her beloved Henry away. As she sits by Henry’s side, Catherine quickly learns the true meaning of devotion, but will it be too late?
