For nearly 25 years Susan Bennett worked as Curator/Archivist for the Royal Society of Arts. She then became Founder Member, Honorary Secretary and Editor for the William Shipley Group for RSA History and has given lectures and published articles on various aspects of its history. She initially undertook the research which has led to this book for a Research MA awarded by Birkbeck College for Georgiana’s artistic life and her dissertation was subsequently published by VDM Verlag Dr Muller in 2004. She has also written over 40 short biographies for an online resource for the University of Brighton’s Design Archives website on the Royal Designers for Industry at Britain Can Make it exhibition
