About Kerry Barrett

Kerry Barrett Bio

Kerry Barrett is a British author and writer known for her dual-timeline novels and historical fiction. As an author, she has published several dual timeline novels under her own name and has also written novels under two pseudonyms. With extensive experience as a writer and TV soap journalist for many years, Kerry drew inspiration from television shows to create stories that blend popular culture with historical mystery.

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Kerry moved to London as a child, and still lives there today with her husband and two sons. She was a bookworm as a child, saving her pocket money for weeks to buy the latest installment in the Sweet Valley High series. She would read the whole story on the bus on the way home, and then spend the next two months waiting for the release of the next one.

Writing about the soaps

Kerry Barrett received a BA Honours in English Language and Literature from the University of Birmingham, and went on to take her NCTJ pre-entry and NCE journalism qualifications. She later became a journalist writing on a wide range of topics including covering several TV soaps such as East Enders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

Barrett spent over 10 years as a features editor for All About Soap magazine. While no longer published, she keeps a hand in the soap world, editing blog www.soapboxtv.co.uk, sharing news and views of several different TV soaps.

Kerry Bell and other pseudonyms

Barrett has written under her own name, as well as two pseudonyms – Kerry Bell and Posy Lovell. Under Kerry Bell, she wrote two books as contributions to the Emmerdale spin-off series – Hope Comes to Emmerdale and Emmerdale Girls.
